Mingo is ranked among the top 10 prospects in the 2026 class.
Louisville, Kentucky When it comes to recruiting the Class of 2026, head coach Pat Kelsey and the Louisville men’s basketball program are still aiming high.

On3’s Jamie Shaw reports that Dylan Mingo, a five-star prospect in the cycle and a point guard for Glen Head (N.Y.) Long Island Lutheran, has been offered a scholarship to play for the Cardinals.
Mingo has been offered by 15 D1 schools, including Louisville, which joins a list of some of the best in college basketball. Alabama, St. John’s, Texas, Illinois, Ole Miss and others have also offered Mingo.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound point guard is ranked as a five-star talent by two of the four major recruiting services, and rates as high as the No. 8 recruit in the 2026 cycle, according to On3’s in-house rankings. He is ranked as the third-best point guard in the class and the ninth-best prospect in the country by the 247Sports Composite.

Mingo created an excellent junior campaign for Long Island Lutheran, as you might guess. He helped the Crusaders finish 22-7 in the 2024–25 season with an average of 14.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He was selected to the MaxPreps Junior All-America Third-Team.

Mingo has taken advantage of the summer circuits after having a successful junior year. He is shooting 42.2 percent from the field and averaging 18.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 11 games for the PSA Cardinals in the Nike EYBL circuit.

Although Louisville has offered 25 uncommitted prospects in the 2026 cycle, they have not yet received a commitment. The Cardinals have three commitments in the more recent 2025 class: four-star forwards Mouhamed Camara and Sananda Fru, as well as five-star guard Mikel Brown Jr.
