The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Bryan Reynolds on paternity leave after he departed Tuesday’s game when his wife went into labor. He’s eligible to miss up to three games .
To temporarily fill his outfield spot, the Pirates have called up Billy Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis. At Indy this season, Cook was batting .271 with 20 RBIs in 61 games. In his earlier brief MLB stint with Pittsburgh last year, he hit .224 with three home runs and eight RBIs across 16 games .
