Known as Tar Heel wander star signs with the San Antonio Spurs on a two-way contract

Harrison Ingram re-signs with the San Antonio Spurs on a two-way contract

Heading into his second professional season, the former Tar Heel still appears to be very much in the Spurs’ future plans.

Former UNC basketball standout Harrison Ingram is staying in San Antonio.

The former second round draft pick has agreed to terms on a two-way contract with the Spurs, the franchise that selected him a season ago. This will be the second consecutive season that Ingram will be on a two-way contract, allowing him the opportunity to split time between the NBA and the G League.

Heading into his second season in the league, the hope is that Ingram will see more playing time with the NBA squad. The experience he earned as a rookie will definitely help him prepare for his second season of professional basketball, as the Spurs still believe that the former Tar Heel can be a solid contributor for them on both levels.

This is great news for Ingram, especially given that the Spurs play within his home state. As fans of the UNC basketball program learned quickly, Ingram is a fierce competitor who can impact a basketball game in a variety of ways, and the Spurs know that this is a guy who they need to continue developing alongside their young roster core that they currently possess.
