Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. According to his death certificate, obtained by The New York Times, Ozzy’s cause of death was¹ ²:
– *Cardiac Arrest*: The primary cause of death was listed as “out of hospital cardiac arrest”.
– *Acute Myocardial Infarction*: Also known as a heart attack, this was a contributing factor to his passing.
– *Coronary Artery Disease*: This condition, which affects the blood flow to the heart, played a role in Ozzy’s death.
– *Parkinson’s Disease*: The legendary singer had been battling Parkinson’s disease for years, and it contributed to his passing, specifically due to autonomic dysfunction.

Ozzy’s final concert took place on July 5, 2025, in Birmingham, where he performed with Black Sabbath’s original lineup. Thousands of fans paid their respects during a public procession in Birmingham on July 30, 2025. The family requested privacy during this time, and Ozzy was laid to rest on the same day at a private ceremony on his Buckinghamshire estate.³
