Deadline Saga: Middlesbrough set to beat Leicester in late swap eye-catching offer for championship star
Hull City are facing a fight to keep Ivor Pandur heading into deadline day, with another Championship suitor now in the race.
Now, a fresh update on the interest in the Hull City goalkeeper has emerged. Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon says that while Leicester City have joined the race for his services, Middlesbrough are plotting an eye-catching offer.
Nixon says that Boro could look to include goalkeeper Seny Dieng in a move for Pandur. The Teesside outfit value the Senegal international at around £5m, so it is expected that they would have to pay some cash as well to try and get a swap deal over the line.
Leicester City and Middlesbrough might be considering their options in the search for a new number one, but despite what Hull City man Pandur would offer, it might be that the Championship duo back their current starters.
Jakub Stolarczyk and Sol Brynn have had to wait a long time for their opportunities with the Foxes and Boro respectively, and given early performances, they may be minded to back them with the starting berths going forward.
Pandur would be a more proven option, but if they have fine goalkeepers ready to make the step into the starting berth, Leicester and Middlesbrough would be better off putting their energy into strengthening elsewhere and saving some money in the process.
