Kansas City Chiefs sign another former Tennessee Vol to its roster
The Kansas City Chiefs seem to like what they see out of Knoxville as they are quickly becoming a Vol Nation favorite in the NFL.
Former Tennessee Vols receiver Jimmy Holiday will join several former Vols in Kansas City after the Chiefs announced they are signing him after going through Rookie Mini-Camp.
While Holiday didn’t finish his college career at Tennessee, he did enough at Louisiana Tech to earn an opportunity to play with some former Tennessee teammates in Kansas City.
Holiday spent three seasons on Rocky Top, totaling seven receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown. While he played a lot of snaps for Tennessee, he never broke out like Vols fans were hoping in his three years.
After his Junior year, he transferred to Western Kentucky, where he had 20 receptions for 326 yards and two touchdowns. That was good enough to earn him an opportunity at Louisiana Tech in his final season, where he had 39 receptions for 476 yards and two touchdowns.

Holiday will reunite with safety Will Brooks, defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott, and offensive lineman Trey Smith.
Smith is locked into making the roster for the 2025 season, but the other three will look to join Smith and make the roster after Fall camp.
During his nine-year run with the Chiefs, former Tennessee safety Eric Berry became an All-Pro, and the Chiefs have since drafted several other former Vols.
Holiday’s senior season was his best, and he will look to continue impressing the Chiefs throughout the summer, Fall camp, and preseason. He hopes to join the Chiefs’ explosive offense.
It will be a longshot for him to make the roster and earn playing time this year, but don’t be surprised if the Chiefs keep him around hoping he’s another former Vol that takes off at the professional level to help the team to another Super Bowl.
