Recently Cut Raiders WR Signs Contract With AFC Contender
As the Las Vegas Raiders continue to tinker with their roster, veteran wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson was recently released. The team added four wide receivers between the draft and undrafted free agency, so they had to move on from the veteran.
Luckily for Wilkerson, he didn’t have to stay a free agent for long. He landed a workout with the Buffalo Bills last week, and apparently, it went well.
According to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson, Wilkerson has signed a contract with the Bills on Monday. He’ll now have the chance to catch passes from one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Josh Allen.
The Bills will be Wilkerson’s fifth NFL team. He first came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing of the Tennessee Titans, but didn’t last long with them. He eventually landed with the New England Patriots and then briefly with the Indianapolis Colts.
When Josh McDaniels took the Raiders job, he brought Wilkerson over to Las Vegas. He lasted two seasons with the team, but he only had two catches in that period.
Wilkerson only has six career catches, so he’s not much of a receiving threat. He’s a strong blocker who can help make an impact on special teams.
Allen will also easily be the best quarterback he’s ever played with, which could open some more opportunities to make catches. The first task is going to be making the roster. If he can prove that he can be an asset in special
